Stella and Friends Concert

Join Stella and Friends on the evening of Saturday, March 29 at The Historic Murphey School for a concert to raise funds in support of Steve and Betsy’s Habitat House!

Steve and Betsy Levitas are partnering with Habitat for Humanity of Durham to fund a Habitat home in 2014, a milestone year for them.  To help with this exciting project, Betsy’s dynamic seven-woman a cappella group, Stella, has rounded up a group of musical friends for a great show at the historic Murphey School in Durham County, 10 minutes from downtown Durham.

Hosted by WUNC radio's Frank Stasio, the musical extravaganza will include favorites from the great American songbook, gospel, rock and jazz, featuring the talents of Callie Warner and guitarist Rick Keena of Southern Routes gospel singer Jennifer Evans and fiddler Chris Mankoff.

Purchase your ticket NOW as there is limited seating and you don’t want to miss this unique, inspiring event! Every dime of your ticket price goes to building a deserving family a home, PLUS we’ll have lots of fun and exciting opportunities throughout the evening to contribute to the cause so don’t leave your wallet behind!

Become a sponsor!  You or your business could help take us over the top and get your name in lights!  Contact us Roxanne Little for more information

Your participation will provide essential funds for Durham Habitat to purchase building materials to help make the dream of homeownership a reality for a family in Durham!  Remember, Habitat homes are not given away, but SOLD at zero percent interest to families that qualify.  Together, we’re building homes, hope and community!

More about Stella ….

With wide-ranging musical tastes, the flexibility of a cappella as a musical form and the occasional strategic addition of instruments, Stella stays compulsively eclectic.  Since assembling loosely in 1998 to sing favorite songs among themselves, Stella has moved on to public performances from house concerts to the Governor’s Mansion, including The Murphey School Radio Show, NC Museum of Art, Festival for the Eno, Artsplosure, Light Up Durham, and the LEAF festival in Black Mountain, NC.  Stella has been featured in the Durham and Chapel Hill Magazines, Our State Magazine, and on WUNC’s State of Things.
